Mozart's Missa Brevis Series Concert-Lecture IV

In the fourth instalment of five-year Mozart’s Complete Missae Breves series, we will perform two C major Missae breves, K. 258 and K. 259. In 1776, at the age of 20, Mozart had accumulated much experience in composing Masses. However, his creative ambitions ultimately extended beyond Salzburg. These two Masses exhibit clear yet subtly different formats. Is this the result of Mozart's mastery and proficiency, or a way to deal with the frustration from work? All these will be unfolded in our lecture-concert.
